A safe place for elderly people

Moorcroft is a two-storey residential property which was originally built for the Wills tobacco firm to have as their holiday retreat. It was converted in the 1970s to a residential home and taken over by the Jack family approximately 30 years ago. They developed it into a twenty-four bedded care home which at present is registered with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) to cater for 24 persons (personal care) male/female and we would mainly cater for the older person. Latterly the home was purchased from the Jack family and is now run by experienced family operators Marcus and Jayne Wilkes.

TESTIMONIALS

Sarah

“It’s a huge change moving in to residential care. Marcus and Jayne plus all their team have made this work for our mother and for us. They take a person centred approach treating the residents as family and provide a lovely environment with good food, activities, fun and kindness.

When mum has had health issues they have looked for solutions to support her, going that extra mile. I can’t thank and recommend them and Moorcroft enough. “

The Chadwick Family

Our mum has been a resident at Moorcroft since August 2021 a place that she is happy to call her home. We find Moorcroft a very pleasant environment, clean bright and well decorated. We are always made to feel welcome here.

They have a wide range of well-organised activities that mum likes to take part in, as well as live entertainment and afternoons out.

The owners and the staff are all so genuine and caring treating mum as family, they go above and beyond in catering for her individual needs and we are always kept informed. We can’t thank them enough, a wonderful team!

About Our Care

Moorcroft at present is registered with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) to cater for 24 people (personal care) male/female.

Our service provides 24-hour long-term care for the elderly, who require assistance with day-to-day tasks. Moorcroft Care Home offers a safe place for elderly people, who are looked after according to their needs, such as help with washing, mobility and medication. We cater for the ever changing needs of our elderly residents along with any medical conditions that can effectively be managed in residential home, without needing the constant intervention of a qualified nurse.
At Moorcroft, our staff embody compassion and professionalism. This dedicated team is the backbone of our person-centred approach to care and each member of staff ensure that residents always have someone on hand to help with daily life activities. Each individuals care plan has details of their dietary requirements, hobbies and life stories. Our home is very much a community within itself, and the opportunities for socialisation and group activities are hugely valuable in helping to combat loneliness.

Families of residents can also have peace of mind that their loved one is well cared for, and in a sociable and enriching environment.
